Shepherd Bush Tutors is seeking a talented and motivated Accountant to join our high-performing Finance team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting our growing operations and have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills within a dynamic and innovative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle full accounting and financial management for the organisation.
• Prepare timely management reports, forecasts, cashflows, and audit documentation.
• Manage time and cost reporting for projects, tutors, and staff.
• Oversee financial processes, policies, and best practices, ensuring continuous improvement in internal controls.
• Manage project financial control and reporting to ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Supervise transaction processing and team members to maintain accurate recordkeeping.
• Manage funded projects and ensure compliance with government and educational reporting requirements.
• Develop strong relationships with business unit leaders to provide strategic financial guidance.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, efficiency, and innovation within the finance team.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Skills:

• Proven experience in financial statement preparation, planning, and organisation.
• Expertise in P&L and Cash Flow management.
• Strong understanding of financial performance, business management, and financial processes.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
• Exceptional problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Confident presentation and reporting abilities

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years’ experience as an Accountant in a fast-growing organisation.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition and cost forecasting.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups) and proficiency in Power BI.
• Experience using QuickBooks and other accounting systems.
• Knowledge of accounting and reporting automation tools.
• High motivation to succeed and demonstrate innovative financial initiatives.
• A Master’s degree in Business Administration or Management is an advantage.
• Knowledge of using Jira is a plus.
